Despite the Heat, Vacationers Flock to Philadelphia

The heat did not stop tourists from taking in the sights in Old City. But visitors did take precautions.KYW's Pat Loeb reports if you've been planning a trip to Philadelphia, you're not going to be put off by a little heat -- or even record heat. But visitors to the Independence Mall area came prepared to deal with it:

"Our strategy is just to walk slowly."

"We drink plenty of water, stay in movies as much as we can, stay in buildings."

Some visitors actually found the climate comfortingly familiar:

"We're from Texas so we know what hot is. We just brought our granddaughter to see it."

(Loeb) "And what did you think?"

"I think it's cool here....cool, no pun intended."
