Coast Guard Releases Tapes Linked to Duck Boat Accident

The Coast Guard released radio recordings made the day of the fatal Duck Boat crash in Philadelphia that took the lives of two Hungarian tourists.KYW's Michelle Durham reports the recordings were taken from the emergency channel that is monitored by the Coast Guard. They were released Friday and they are chilling:

"Hey....ferry...ferry...ferry...whoa, whoa, whoa!"

The NTSB investigation into the July 7th accident continues but there is no doubt that witnesses did all they could to help the victims:

"Yes sir one of the duck boats off of Penn's Landing. Looks like they just got run over by a barge. I'm going in to pick them up."

When the Coast Guard responded and asked for more details, he was told by the boat operator that he didn't have time for more because his priority was to help the people in the water.

Someone aboard the tug boat towing the barge that allegedly capsized the disabled Duck Boat also radioed in but said there wasn't much they could do to help because of the barge.
