On Flag Day, Local Country Club Honors Military Men & Women

Monday is Flag Day and one local country club is saying thank you to those who have defended the stars and stripes by making them members for a day. 

More than 100 members at Meadowlands Country Club in Blue Bell, Pa. are donating their day to serve members of the military and their families for the 4th annual Armed Forces Appreciation Day.

Ira Berkowitz, club general manager, says the members are happy to work:

"Everything from working on the golf course, preparing the breakfast, serving the food, cleaning.  They'll be caddying.  All that fun stuff."

Earl Rochvarg is one of the members who helps organize the day's events:

"It's a great, great feeling.  And the feeling is even magnified more when the men and women and their children come here in the morning and you see the smiles on their faces."

Several area vendors have donated food and gifts that will be distributed to all in attendance.
