Mexican Independence Day Festival

It’s a celebration of Mexican independence on Sunday, September 14th from 1-7 p.m. at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing. There will be plenty of live music, vendors, food and fun. After the festival, the celebration continues with a live mariachi band and fireworks show at the Spruce Street Harbor Park from 7-8 p.m. Free.
Peddler’s Village Scarecrow Competition & Display

Head just 45 minutes from the city to Peddler’s Village, where the scarecrow festival is happening throughout September and October. Kids can delight in hundreds of life size scarecrows and vote for their favorite before heading over for more fun at the Giggleberry Fair.
