Bring the whole family out to the Summer Solstice Celebration at the Riverbend Environmental Education Center this Friday, June 19th starting at 6 p.m. This fun family event will include a beekeeping demo, pond exploration, yard games, arts, crafts and lots more to celebrate the official start of summer. And end the night with storytelling and marshmallow roasting around the campfire, too! $15 per family.

The African American Museum in Philadelphia hosts the Macy's Family Fun Day: Juneteenth 150th Celebration this Saturday, June 20th to mark the date when slaves in Galveston, Texas learned that the Civil War had ended and they were free. Join families around the globe to celebrate this day with exhibits, music, presentations and costumed re-enactors and historians from the US Colored Troops Third Regiment. Then grab a bite to eat at a foodtruck and enjoy kids fun like facepainting and balloon animals, arts and crafts, and more. Free.
