Top Spots To Watch The Kentucky Derby In Philadelphia

Ladies, don your Lilly, and gents, it's time to rock the pastels. The 141st Kentucky Derby is Saturday, May 2nd, meaning mint juleps and outrageous hats are an absolute must! For a race day party with Southern flair, head to one of these Philly area Derby events. – Chelsea Karnash

4th Annual Kentucky Derby Party


4 – 6:30 p.m., $50 per person

Party it up on the outdoor veranda at Paramour in Wayne. For $50, you get access hors d'oeuvres, sweets, wine and (of course!) mint juleps, and all proceeds benefit the Radnor Historical Society.

141st Kentucky Derby Day Celebration


Starting at 10 a.m., pay as you go

Bet on the races and toast to a day of drinking mint juleps and bourbon cocktails in your Derby Day finest. Prizes go to the best traditional Derby hat as well as the best horse racing-themed hat. And in case you've got tykes in tow, there's family-friendly fun available in the picnic grove, too.

Pretty up and head to Pub & Kitchen in your Derby Day attire for Kentucky cuisine and ice cold mint juleps.

Kentucky Derby Party


2 p.m., pay as you go

Old City bourbon house The Twisted Tail couldn't let a Kentucky Derby go by without some corresponding festivities. Stop by all day Saturday to watch the race on six televisions, drink Woodford Reserve mint juleps and (hopefully) win some prizes, which include a limited edition Kentucky Derby bottle of Woodford.

Live music, $5 mint juleps and $4 Yards brews make for a festive day at the recently revamped Field House. Plus, don't forget to put on your craziest hat – there's a $250 prize for the best one!

Xfinity Live! Derby Day


10:30 a.m., pay as you go

The party begins with race day coverage on Xfinity's huge screen television – complete with discounted juleps – and continues into the night.
