Barcade doubles as a bar and an arcade. It has an entire room dedicated to classic video arcade games and it costs only a quarter for a round (there is a change machine, just in case you didn’t come prepared with a pocket full of change!). For sports and beer, City Tap House is the place to go in West Philly. In fact, this place has a humongous beer list, with over 60 on tap. The kitchen serves some innovative American pub food, like ‘craftwiches’ (a.k.a. burgers), calzones, sandwiches, brick-oven pizzas, mussels and large plates (steak, ribs). Head to the rooftop terraces to enjoy some great views of University City and the summer air.

This multi-level restaurant serves small plates and tapas you can share with your buddies and has some delicious drinks to go along with the menu. The rooftop attracts young professionals throughout the year, so once you grab a drink, make sure you head out to the deck to enjoy the night sky.

This outdoor German beer garden in Fishtown is great for a large group of guys and provides plenty of entertainment – ping pong, foosball and jenga, for example. At Frankford Hall, you’ll be able to fit your entire group at one of the wooden picnic tables and order a liter of a German draft. The German beer here pairs well with the German food – make sure you try one of Frankford’s sausage sandwiches or a Bavarian pretzel. Frankford Hall is even a favorite in the cold months, with heat lamps and fire pits adorning the place.

If you and the guys are looking to dance, head over to Silk City Diner, Lounge & Garden on Spring Garden Street. DJs spin top 40 tracks every night and this place is one of the more popular nightlife destinations in the city. Silk City isn’t just a dance club, however. It is also a diner, beer garden and bar. When you get tired of dancing, head to the old diner car to enjoy some classic American cuisine or relax with a drink in the 3,000-square-foot beer garden. The kitchen is open late night (until 1 a.m.).
