Aquatic Fitness Center, or AFC, is located in Northeast Philadelphia and is home to the largest year-round Olympic-size swimming pool in the tri-state area. Swimming options include recreational and open swim, private and group lessons, parent and tot classes and aqua classes like water walking, weight lifting, Zumba and other water aerobic and fitness toning classes. AFC also features water rehabilitation and therapy programs, including a heated therapeutic pool.

In South Philadelphia, Fitness Works has a 50-foot heated indoor pool and co-ed sauna available to all members. Lab swimming is accessible during its regular hours, except when aqua aerobic classes are being held, and private swim lessons are available for eager swimmers over the age of five. Fitness Works also books private pool parties on Saturday and Sunday and rents its space to summer and day camps for their use. As a member of Fitness Work, you can enjoy other gym perks such as dance and group classes (including pilates and barre) and a full cardio and weight lifting center.

The Germantown Life Enrichment Center in Germantown, Philadelphia has been serving the community for more than 142 years by improving the health and wellness amongst people of all ages and ethnic groups. The pool is opened Monday through Saturday (closed Sunday) and includes recreational swimming, lap swim, family swim, water aerobics, lifeguarding classes, swim team and swim lessons for babies, kids and adults. Memberships are available, but non-members may also use the pool for a nominal fee per each use.

The Sayre Morris Recreation facility is part of the Sayre Morris School in West Philadelphia and has two basketball courts and an indoor pool open year-round. Opened to the public, this rec center offers evening water aerobics classes, private swim lessons and recreational swimming. The center also features many dance, zumba, aerobatics and other fitness classes.

The Sporting Club at the Bellevue is a fully equipped gym in the heart of center city featuring 93,000 square feet of fitness equipment, a full-size basketball court, an indoor track and indoor pool. As a member or guest of the Hyatt, you have access to all this and more. The first-floor 25-meter swimming pool offers four lanes, aqua aerobics class and private swim lessons for members. The pool is open daily to members (different tiers of membership available) and Hyatt guests with special hours for children and master swimmers. After your swim, head to the Sporting Club's state of the art locker rooms for the whirlpool, sauna and showers.
