Top Go Kart Tracks Near Philadelphia

Sometimes the thrill of the open road just isn't enough. You need that low-to-the-ground rush, that blitzkrieg of adrenalin hammering your system as you take the curves fast and hard. Nothing satisfies that urge to surge like zipping about at high speeds caught in the fiercely fun competitive thrall of a Go Kart rivalry. At these five area speedways, it's not only okay to be a little racy, it's encouraged.

Arnold's Family Fun Center offers a wide variety of racing experiences for all ages. The facility boasts over 75 "fully-electric," "fume-free" go karts and two tracks. There are five different types of vehicles available for racing at Arnold's: pro karts (12 years old, 60 inches), Arnold's karts ( 56 inches tall), double-seater karts (driver must possess a valid driver's license), junior karts (ages six to 10), and falcon karts (ages three to six). Besides racing, Arnold's Family Fun Center also offers an expansive variety of activities, including laser tag, black light mini golf, arcade games, duck-pin bowling, a bounce zone, a rock wall, a concert venue, and more.

The electric go karts at The Funplex offer riders who are at least 14 years old and 54 inches tall a thrilling, high-speed challenge on their winding indoor raceway. Though having a great time is important, The Funplex cites safety as the facility's number one priority. Passengers in double-seat karts must be at least 36 inches tall and all raceway rules conform to state safety laws. In addition to go karts, The Funplex offers a number of other indoor activities such as bumper cars, bowling, arcade games, a motion simulator, laser runner, and more. Outdoor attractions include a FunCoaster, Bumper Boats, a water park, miniature golf, Free Fall, Tilt-A-Whirl, FunTwister, and an outdoor race track.

With bowling, batting cages, mini golf, amusement rides, and go kart racing, Happy Tymes Family Fun Center offers a whole world of enjoyment for everyone in your clan, however, it's that last amenity that brings the crowds. The facility's outdoor track is open year round. The public raceway can be rented out for private events and it features rookie cars (seven years old, 46 inches), adult Cars (10 years old, 58 inches), and double go karts (driver: 21 years old, rider: four years old). At Happy Tymes Family Fun Center, the focus is on the children, and there is no charge for admission.

Speed Raceway boasts being the East Coast's "largest indoor electric kart racing facility." With no gasoline, there are no fumes and no oils, so it's a clean, green, extreme racing scene on a quarter mile of hairpin turns and pedal-down straightaways. Speed Raceway's Italian-made OTL Storm Karts offer a unique, precision racing experience coupled with the thrill of head-to-head battle in a teeth-clenching competition that last up to ten minutes long. The facility offers both adult (12 and older, minimum 56 inches tall) and junior (starting at age six, minimum 48 inches tall) races. No driver's license needed; walk-ins are accepted.
