Barcade in Fishtown has a room full of 1980s vintage arcade games that all cost just a quarter to play (a change machine is on site, so no need to load up your pockets before hand). The arcade games include classics such as Frogger, Donkey Kong, Ms. Pacman and Asteroids. While playing the games, enjoy a craft beer from tap or some comfort food from its menu, like pierogies, mac and cheese and grilled cheese. Specials throughout the week include $1 tacos and ½ off small plates during its happy hour.

Doobies is a neighborhood dive bar in Fitler Square that is a favorite among locals. It has a ton of board games that’ll make you relive your childhood, including — but certainly not limited to! — Apples to Apples, Operation, Clue, Monopoly, Battleship, Candyland and Scattergories. While playing a game with your pals, order up some inexpensive bar food – think sandwiches, burgers, chili and pita pizzas. The bar also has great craft beer and city-wide specials. This place is cash only, but the fees from its ATM go to support a local cat shelter.

Stephen Starr’s Frankford Hall is a popular Fishtown beer garden in both the warm and cold months (fire pits keep you warm during the winter). With its communal picnic table seating, this place is perfect for a large group of friends to partake in conversation or board games like Jenga. If you become tired of sitting, head to the full size ping pong table to enjoy some healthy competition while indulging in one of the venue’s many German beers (it is a beer garden, after all). Bavarian pretzels, sausages and milkshakes (made with or without alcohol), are also draws.
