So, not sure if you've realized this yet but February is basically the party month of winter. I mean seriously! You kick off the month with some great football (get it, kick off…), then, in the middle of the month you get to celebrate Hallmark's favorite holiday: Singles Awareness Day… or Valentine's day as some like to call it. It starts with grabbing your boo, the neighbor you've been stalking or that stranger you just bumped into while reading this on your phone, and heading to Kensington Quarter to learn how to cook.

This hot spot, opened last fall by Bufad and Prohibition Taproom's Pasquarello Restaurant Group, is adding a new layer to their multi functioning space. In addition to their dining room, bar and butcher shop, Kensington Quarter is now adding a classroom for any aspiring chef (or anyone who could use some help in the kitchen… you know who you are).

With teachers like KQ's beloved expert butcher, Bryan Mayer, teaching 90-minute classes every Wednesday evening and 3-hour sessions on the last Sunday of each month, you'll learn techniques like how to carve up a whole chicken (whole animal for the longer classes) and do-it-yourself curing and sausage making. If you're not into the meat sweats there'll be less carnivorous courses to come in the spring.

Now the only thing you'll have to worry about is your meat hangover… you get those too, right?
