CBS3 and The CW Philly Awarding $300,000 to Minority- and Women-Owned Businesses
CBS3 and The CW Philly are making a major investment in small businesses in our area, owned by and/or serving minority communities and/or women. Small Wins! will award a total of $300,000 in on-air advertising and cash grants to small businesses from Philly and its suburbs to Delaware, South Jersey, the Poconos and the Lehigh Valley.
“There is no doubt small businesses have suffered and they still need help,” said Brandin Stewart, President and General Manager of CBS3 and The CW Philly. “We at CBS Philadelphia are in a unique position to make a difference in the diverse communities we serve through initiatives such as Small Wins!”
CBS Philadelphia recognizes the pandemic has hit small businesses owned by minorities and women especially hard, with a higher percentage of them permanently closing in late 2020 and early 2021. CBS3 and The CW Philly developed Small Wins! to support small businesses that help communities thrive by contributing to increased property values, helping pay for municipal services and investing in local schools.
Over the course of the next year, small businesses may apply for Small Wins! by filling out an application and writing a short essay. Applicants’ essays will be rated by a panel of community leaders, and the highest-scoring small business will be awarded an advertising schedule valued at $25,000 airing on CBS3, the CW Philly and CBSN Philly and an additional $50,000 cash grant. The first winning business will be selected on or about September 28, 2021, with additional winners being selected on or about November 15, 2021, February 15, 2022, and May 15, 2022.
