CBS3 Anchors Jim Donovan and Janelle Burrell will host the parade coverage from the reviewing stands on Market Street between 5th and 6th Streets. Meteorologist Llarisa Abreau and Chandler Lutz along with other members of the CBS3 Eyewitness News Family will ride and walk in the parade.
More than 200 units will participate in the Parade hosted by the St. Patrick’s Day Observance Association, including marching bands, Irish dancers, Irish cultural groups, Philadelphia Police and Fire Units and various divisions of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and Lady’s Ancient Order of Hibernians.
This year’s Parade theme is 250 Years of Faith, Family, Friendship and Heritage. This will be the first time the Philadelphia St. Patrick’s Day Parade has been presented in two years due to Covid cancellations in 2021 and 2020. The parade route begins at 16th and JFK and then proceeds around City Hall to Market Street. The Parade ends at 5th Street with the performance area on Market Street in the historic neighborhood of the Independence Visitors Center, The Liberty Bell and Independence Hall.
Michael J Bradley Jr. who is the Grand Marshal of the 250th Parade, was the Parade Director for over 20 years. His son Colin was named Parade Director in 2020 and will oversee the Parade this year for the first time. Michael Bradley said “We are thrilled to renew our partnership with CBS3 and The CW Philly 57, and overjoyed to finally be marching to show the world our 250 Years of Faith, Family, Friendship and Heritage. We were the first event to cancel due to the Pandemic just 5 days before the Parade was to be held in 2020 and missed it again last year, so we are really looking forward to March 13, 2022.”
The St. Patrick’s Day Parade telecast is presented by David Dodge Auto, IBEW Local 98, The Philadelphia Federal Credit Union and StoneMor.
CBS3 (KYW-TV) and The CW Philly 57 (WPSG-TV) are part of CBS Television Stations, a division of Viacom CBS Corporation.
