Charges Filed Against Driver Of Car Involved In Crash With Train In Newark

NEWARK, Del. (CBS) -- Charges have been filed against the driver of a car involved in a train crash in New Castle County. It happened Wednesday at the West Main Street crossing in Newark.

Police say the 31-year-old male driver, who had a suspended license, turned left onto the railroad tracks instead of using the roadway.

The car then became stuck on the tracks.

The driver and two passengers were able to escape before the train smashed into the car.
