CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) — New Jersey’s gas tax is going down on Friday. It will drop 8.3 cents.
The decrease comes after the state hit drivers with a 9.3 cent-a-gallon hike last October.
That increase offset millions in “revenue lost” when drivers stayed off the roads during the pandemic.
The state says fuel consumption during 2021 fell in line with last year’s projections.
That allowed for the decrease.
