Delaware Reports First Human Case Of West Nile Virus Since 2018

KENT COUNTY, Del. (CBS) -- Health officials in Delaware are reporting the first human case of the West Nile virus since 2018. A 69-year old Kent County man was infected.

West Nile can be very serious, even deadly.

Ten human cases were reported in Delaware in 2018. Two people died.

The peak period for transmission is from mid-August to October.
