Pennsylvania SPCA Celebrates 'Dogust First' With Its Adoptable Pups

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - It was a special day for all the adoptable dogs at the Pennsylvania SPCA.

August 1 is universally known as "Dogust First," and the PSPCA used the day to honor all its furry friends looking for a home.

The day is meant to celebrate the birthdays of rescue dogs, since their actual dates of birth are unknown. North Shore Animal League in New York created the celebration.
