PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge is in critical condition after suffering a stroke. A spokesperson says the 75-year-old suffered the stroke at his Maryland home this morning and was rushed to a Washington, D.C. hospital.

We’re told he underwent a successful procedure to remove a blood clot.

Ridge served as Pennsylvania’s 43rd governor and was also the first U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security.
