Philadelphia Youth Basketball Program Receives $1 Million State Grant

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Youth Basketball Program received a big boost on Friday in the form of a $1 million state grant. The grant was awarded virtually by state Sen. Vincent Hughes through Pennsylvania's Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program.

The organization says it will use the grant to purchase and renovate the future site of the Alan Horwitz Sixth Man Center on Wissahickon Avenue.

The center will offer literacy and other development programs, along with youth basketball.
