Atlantic City Police Chief Henry White To Retire After 35 Years Of Service

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBS) -- In New Jersey, Atlantic City's top cop announces his retirement after serving the city for 35 years. Police Chief Henry White says he will turn in his badge on Oct. 1.

White was born and raised in Atlantic City.

He joined the force in 1985.

He rose in the ranks, from foot patrol, to detective, to Captain and deputy chief before being named Chief of Police in 2013.

White says he plans to enjoy more time with his family.
