OCEAN COUNTY, N.J. (CBS) — With large-scale fireworks shows canceled, many took matters into their own hands over the holiday. Police in Barnegat, Ocean County put together a heat map to show incidents related to fireworks.

Since July 1, Barnegat Township police say they’ve had 65 complaints, and five people have been charged with the possession or use of illegal fireworks.

One incident caused property damage at two homes.
