PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — An investigation is underway after a body was discovered wrapped in a trash bag in East Germantown. The disturbing discovery was made just before 6 p.m. Tuesday along the 5700 block of Musgrave Street.
Philadelphia police are not sure whether the remains are of a male or female, but they do believe that this could be the body of a missing Haverford woman.

Haverford Township police alerted Philadelphia police to the remains of a body under a bridge in a vacant lot.
Police believe it is the body of a 25-year-old Black woman who’s been missing since May 22.
Philadelphia police say the remains were found in a green trash bag.
We’re told this all started as a Haverford police investigation. Upper Darby police are also involved in the investigation.
“There was a 25-year-old female who went missing from Haverford Township in late May. They got some leads, questioned some people and they got information that led them to the 5700 block of Musgrave, here in the 14th Police District in Philadelphia. That’s where they found the bag,” Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said.
Police say this woman has been missing for a month and the smell of decay was very strong in this area. They believe she was killed at a location in Upper Darby.
