CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) — It was an emotional draft night for one player from our area. Camden, New Jersey native Cesar Ruiz was in tears Thursday night when the New Orleans Saints picked him 24th overall.

The Michigan University offensive lineman was surrounded by family.

When Ruiz was just 8 years old, his father was tragically struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver, while helping someone change a tire.
