Philadelphia Man Captured, Charged In New Jersey Stabbing

WOODLYNNE, N.J. (AP) - A Philadelphia man was charged with attempted murder after he allegedly forced his way into a South Jersey home last week and repeatedly stabbed another man, authorities said. James Dunlap, 52, was also charged with burglary, aggravated assault and weapons counts stemming from the Jan. 23 attack in Woodynne.

It wasn't known Thursday if he has retained an attorney.

A witness told authorities that Dunlap repeatedly stabbed a 64-year-old man in the upper body and assaulted another person in the home, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office. The stabbing victim was taken to a hospital, but his name and further details on his condition have not been released.

Dunlap was arrested Tuesday in Logan, New Jersey by members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force. He will likely remain jailed until he makers his initial court appearance, which has not yet been scheduled.

A motive for the attack remains under investigation.
