Zackhary's Law Now On Books In New Jersey To Establish Alert System To Track Down Hit-And-Run Drivers
TRENTON, N.J. (CBS) -- A new law, called Zackhary's Law, focusing on hit-and-runs, is on the books in New Jersey. Like Amber Alerts, which assists with child abductions, Zackhary's Law establishes an alert system to help track down hit-and-run drivers.
The law is named after Zackhary Simmons, a 21-year-old man who died in Hoboken, New Jersey, in June 2016.
He died after the driver that struck him fled the scene.
