Man Shot, Killed Near Temple University Hospital In North Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Police are investigating a murder down the street from Temple University Hospital. The shooting happened on the 3500 block of Germantown Avenue in North Philadelphia.

Police say a 47-year-old man was shot in the chest and arm, just before 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Officers rushed him to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

So far, no arrests have been made.

This is the 354th murder of 2019 which is one more than in 2018.

It's also the highest murder rate in the city since 2007 when 391 people were killed in Philadelphia.
