SHAMONG TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) — More than 100 dogs were rescued from a puppy mill in South Jersey last year. Now, the owner is formally facing charges.
A grand jury on Wednesday indicted Donna Roberts on eight counts of animal cruelty.
In addition to the 161 living dogs found on her Shamong Township property last year, 44 carcasses were found in freezers.
Many of the living dogs had been put up for adoption.
