Pennsylvania Woman Facing Charges For Allegedly Spearheading 'Grandparents Scam'
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. (CBS) -- A woman has been charged for allegedly spearheading a scam dubbed the "grandparents scam." It involves calling an elderly person and posing as the victim's grandchild or an attorney representing the grandchild.
The caller then claims the grandchild needs money for bail or an attorney.
Yahaira Diaz was arrested in March of 2018 and is accused of scamming at least 10 elderly victims.
