Not Liking Vegetables Could Be Genetic, Researchers Says

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- If you don't like vegetables, it could be genetic. Scientists are calling people who refuse to eat certain veggies "supertasters."

Supertasters have an extreme sensitivity to bitter foods like broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage.

People with the bitter gene are 2.6 times more likely to eat fewer vegetables that people who do not have the gene.

The research was presented at the annual meeting of the American Heart Associaton.
