5-Year-Old Boy Critically Injured After Falling Out Of Second-Floor Bedroom Window In City, Police Say

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A 5-year-old boy was critically injured after police say he fell out of a second-floor bedroom window in Center City. The incident happened shortly before 3 p.m. on the 2300 block of Naudain Street on Sunday.

Police say the boy was rushed to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in a private vehicle after the fall.

He was placed in critical condition at the hospital.

"It happened in seconds. Little guy just climbed quickly," Judith Parker, a neighbor, said. "The good news, I guess, there was not a drop of blood. There was no noise at all from him. I think that was what was the most terrifying. Once his father was able to lift him and got him to begin to crying, we all felt crying babies aren't dead babies."

There is no word on if the incident was an accident or if someone may be held criminally liable.
