New Jersey Drivers Still Seeing Lower Gas Prices Amid Mideast Tensions

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Drivers in New Jersey and across the nation have seen prices drop for another week, but analysts warn that tensions in the Middle East could send oil prices higher. AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas in New Jersey on Friday was $2.75, down another four cents from last week and below the average $2.89 at this time last year.

The national average gas price Friday was $2.66 a gallon, also down four cents from last week and well below the average of $2.86 at this time last year.

Analysts say before market fears increased amid tension between the United States and Iran following a drone attack, the price of crude hit its lowest point in six months last week.
