Penn Medicine Eliminating Sugary Drinks To Reduce Obesity, Type 2 Diabetes

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Penn Medicine is making a big change to try to help keep people healthy.

The hospital system is removing all sugary drinks from its facilities.

That includes soda, sports drinks and sweetened juices along with sweetened tea and coffee beverages.

Diet and unsweetened beverages will still be available.

The goal is to cut down on obesity and Type 2 diabetes.
