Chester Police: Suspect Listed In Grave Condition After Firing Shots At Officer

CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) -- Authorities say a 25-year-old man is in grave condition after he allegedly fired shots at police in Chester, Delaware County on Tuesday morning.

Police responded to a domestic call about a man allegedly beating his girlfriend outside of a car near West 6th Street shortly before 11:30 a.m.

Chief James Nolan said in a press conference that when police arrived on scene, shots were fired at an officer who was not struck.

The suspect was taken to Crozer Chester Medical Center with what police suspect is a self-inflicted gunshot wound with a gun they suspect was stolen.

The victim connected to the domestic call was found alive in the home in 600 block of Highland Avenue.
