PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Some area brick-and mortar retailers are open 24 hours now, for last-minute holiday shoppers.

At the Kohl’s store in Cherry Hill, Tamika from Mayfair was finishing her Christmas shopping in the wee hours of the morning.

“There were like, three people in the whole store,” she said. “So it’s less crowded. You don’t have to deal with all the hanky panky and mumbo jumbo. I’m an early shopper anyway. That’s why I came out.”

Tamika and her son Tyronn took advantage of the retailer’s round-the-clock holiday hours.

Tyronn said he was ready to help his mom at five o’clock in the morning.

“Yeah, I came as an accessory to carry bags,” he said. “And for protection!”
