PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Ed Snider’s legacy will last forever, but just in case, the Flyers made sure he will never be forgotten.

On Thursday, the team unveiled a statue of the late great founder of the franchise.

The unveiling comes on the 50th anniversary of their first home game.

The statue is 9 feet tall and 1,300 pounds.

Snider died of cancer in April 2016.
