Route 1 In Delaware Closed Due To Overturned Tanker Truck
MIDDLETOWN, Del. (CBS) -- Crews are working to clear the scene of an accident on Route 1 in Delaware after a tanker truck overturned, Wednesday morning.
It happened on Route 1 northbound between Smyrna and Odessa, just before 8:30 a.m.
The driver was airlifted to Christiana Hospital with serious injuries.
Currently State Route 1 northbound is closed at Exit 119 in Smyrna and State Route 1 southbound is closed at DE 299 in Middletown.
Road closures of up to 12 hours are possible. Expect lengthy delays in the area and seek alternate routes of travel.
