Temple University: Student Dies After Falling From Window In His Residence Hall

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A 19-year-old Temple University student is dead after apparently falling from a window in his residence hall.

Philadelphia police say it happened around 10:30 Tuesday morning on Liacouras Walk near Pollett Walk.

Temple University President Richard Englert said in a statement that Richard Dalcourt died after the fall from a sixth floor window.

Dalcourt was rushed to Hahnemann Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Englert explained that Dalcourt was in his first year at Temple as a mechanical engineering major.

The university says they are providing counseling for students at the Tuttleman Counseling Services building at 1700 North Broad Street.
