Investigation Underway After Police Find Baby Dead In Rhawnhurst
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police say a new born was found dead Sunday night in the Rhawnhurst section of the city.
Officials say they responded to a call shortly after 4:30 p.m. to a home along the 7800 block of Summerdale Ave. that a woman gave birth to a still born baby.
Police tell CBSPhilly that medics on the scene found a child inside of a trash bag in the home's kitchen.
The Special Victims Unit is handling the investigation, which is in its very early stages.
Police say they were told the birth happened Wednesday.
No arrests have been made.
