2 Rescued From Riptide In Wildwood

WILDWOOD, N.J. (CBS) -- Two people were rescued after they were swept away by a rip current in Wildwood, Saturday afternoon.

The swimmers entered the ocean at Youngs Avenue, just after 3 p.m.

Officials say a riptide had carried a man and a woman several blocks down the beach.  Beach patrol officers and firefighters pulled the man and woman to safety at Montgomery Avenue.

The woman was taken to Cape May Regional Hospital for minor injuries, but is expected to be OK.

The firefighters were working a parade when the rescue call came in.
