Volunteer Teams Dress Up Parking Meters For Park(ing) Day
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It isn't every day that you see parking meters all dressed up!
But Friday is global Park(ing) Day, an event that encourages people to create "parklets" or mini parks out of metered parking spaces.
In Philadelphia, 60 volunteer teams designed and installed these temporary "parklets" throughout the city.
These are sanctioned by the Philadelphia Parking Authority, but funded by the teams.
