Police: 1 Dies From Injuries In Bridgeton Triple Shooting

BRIDGETON, N.J. (CBS) -- One person has died following a triple shooting in Bridgeton that happened Wednesday night.

The shooting happened on the 300 block of North Pearl Street in Bridgeton around 10 p.m. on Wednesday.

Woman's Purse Explodes During City Council Meeting

Bridgeton police say 25-year-old Eric Blocker of Millville died from his injuries Thursday morning at Cooper University Hospital in Camden.

A 24-year-old woman remains in critical but stable condition from a single gunshot wound, and a 22-year-old woman was treated and released from Cooper.

Bridgeton Police Chief Michael Gaimari says that Blocker was the intended target of the shooting.

Investigators say two suspects fled on foot west on Morton Street and that detectives have developed information on at least one suspect.

There were 23 shell casings at the scene.

No arrests have been made.
