BROOKHAVEN, Pa. (CBS) — Police say one person was hospitalized in a hit-and-run in Delaware County on Thursday afternoon.

Police say a person was struck by a car on the 4900 block of Jackson Drive in Brookhaven around 3 p.m.

An eyewitness tells police it all started when a man in a silver Dodge Avenger tried to steal a landscaper’s leaf-blower on Jackson Drive.

Police say the landscaper confronted the suspect and that’s when the suspect ran over the victim while getting away.

The 23-year-old victim was hospitalized for a concussion.
