Pence To Address Federalist Society In Philadelphia Saturday

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --Vice President Mike Pence is coming to Philadelphia on Saturday

The vice president will be appearing at Congress Hall on Independence Mall at noon. He will be speaking to the Philadelphia chapter of the Federalist Society.

A spokesman for the Federalist Society says Pence will be speaking on the new Supreme Court nominee, the role of the courts and the Constitution.

The Federalist Society is an organization self-described as a group of conservatives and libertarians interested in the separation of government powers and the current state of legal order.

The group also says it was founded on the principles that the state exists to preserve freedom, and that the duty of the Judiciary is to say what the law is, not what it should be.
