Police: Dog Attack Leaves 96-Year-Old Woman Seriously Injured

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- An elderly woman is in serious condition following a pit bull attack in Germantown.

Authorities say Wednesday afternoon, witnesses reported that they were working on the victim's roof when they heard screaming. Police say they looked down and saw the 96-year-old woman being attacked in the rear of the property by her neighbor's two pit bulls.

When officials on the scene, they found the woman with multiple dog bites to her right eye and face.

She was transported to AEMC where is she currently is stable condition.

Police say the owner of the dog said the dogs got out of the home in an unknown manner, possibly through a mistakenly opened door.

ACCT responded and removed the dogs.
