Olympic Hero Simone Biles Strikes Landing In Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - She won four gold medals and a bronze at the Rio Olympics over the summer, and Friday night, Simone Biles was in Philadelphia.

A rousing ovation from the hundreds and hundreds of people packed inside the Free Library of Philadelphia to see the U.S. gymnast.

"I'm a gymnast and I wanted to see Simone Biles," says little Michal Groen.

She was one of the many aspiring young athletes there to meet -- and maybe get advice from -- her role model:

(Reporter) If you could ask Simone one thing, what would you ask her?

"How does she hold a hand stand for so long, because I have trouble with that," Michal said.

Michal's dad very grateful his daughter has this opportunity:

"It's cool, when you look at the look in her eye, it's exciting," he tells KYW Newsradio. "She's been following her the whole trials, it's awesome."

Biles signed copies her book Courage to Soar where she recounts the trials, tumbles and triumphs on her road to Olympic glory.

She also did a Q&A and took selfies with her delighted admirers.
