Delaware County Man Arrested On Child Porn Charges For Second Time

UPPER DARBY, Pa. (CBS) -- An Upper Darby, Delaware County man is behind bars, again, on child pornography charges, just months after he was released from prison for the same crime.

Thirty-eighty-year-old John Fisher III of Copley Road was released from prison on child pornography charges in March. Delaware County District Attorney Jack Whelan says Fisher was re-arrested after a routine check under the county's Intensive Psycho-Sexual Probation.

"Sex offenders probation, which is different from regular probation, it's handled differently, it's more intensive, and they do periodic site visits to make sure he's not re-offending," Whelan explained. "Not engaging in the same kind of conduct that would victimize children and in this particular case, he was caught."

During the visit, a detective with the County's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force noticed Fisher was nervous when asked about his internet use. Further investigation revealed, Fisher had deleted all of his internet history because, Whelan says, he had searched and downloaded more child porn.

A preliminary hearing is slated January 9th on the new charges.
