Philadelphia Officer Jesse Hartnett To Receive Valor Award
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A special honor for a Philadelphia Police officer nearly killed on the job.
Officer Jesse Hartnett will receive the department's Sgt. Robert Wilson Valor Award Wednesday morning.
Hartnett was shot several times during an ambush in his patrol car in Cobbs Creek last January. He even managed to shoot the suspect after he was shot.
Dozens of other officers will also be recognized for their bravery and heroism at the awards ceremony.
