Jeweler Thanks Soldier For Service By Donating Ring For His Proposal

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Anthony Wilson of the United States Army had the opportunity to share a very special moment with the love of his life on Friday night. The moment came before the pair enjoyed the Norah Jones concert at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia.

He proposed to his girlfriend, Shaundraya Pearson, with the help of a local business who wanted to thank him for his service. Pearson and Wilson are both staff sergeants. Wilson is active duty and Pearson is in the Army Reserves. Wilson has 15 years of service, while Pearson has 16.

Wilson, a Philadelphia native, and Pearson have been dating since Valentine's Day of 2014.

Family & Co. Jewelers in Marlton, New Jersey, partnered with the USO, stepped in and provided the ring to Wilson, free of charge. The owner of the business, Angelo Breaux donated the ring as a way to say thank you to Wilson for his service to the country.

Giving back to veterans is a big part of what the business attempts to do, serving as a drop-off location, year-round, for Operation Yellow Ribbon.
