Police: Elderly Man Dies Following Lower Merion Hit & Run

LOWER MERION, Twp., Pa. (CBS) -- The Lower Merion Police are asking for the public's help as they try to find the driver responsible for a fatal hit and run. The crash took place on Friday night around 6:40 p.m.

Police say a 72-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle on the 600 block of Righters Mill Road. The victim was identified as Huiqing Jiang of Philadelphia.

Authorities say the car was heading eastbound and struck the man before fleeing the scene. Jiang was found lying in the road by a passing driver. He was taken to Lankenau Hospital for treatment, but died as a result of his injuries.

Investigators are working to identify the driver of the vehicle, which they say may have damage to the passenger side front bumper, front windshield and front passenger side panel.
