Investigators Seek Help In Solving 23-Year-Old Murder Of Bucks County Woman

LANSDALE, Pa. (CBS) -- Twenty-three-years ago today, the body of an 18-year-old Bucks County woman was found in a rail yard in Lansdale.

Her murderer was never found.

Julie Barnyock called her dad for a ride from the Lansdale train station at 11:40 p.m. on November 8th, 1993. When he arrived she wasn't there.

Three weeks later, December 2nd, 1993, her body was found in the Lansdale Conrail/SEPTA freight yard.

Montgomery County 1st assistant district attorney Ed McCann says they've continued the investigation, but are using the anniversary to ask for help.

"Clearly there's a gap in time as to what happened to Julie. Any information about that would be helpful."

He says nothing will ever ease the family's pain, but an answer to the mystery of her death will help.

"At least it would bring them some small sense of peace and hopefully a sense that justice will have been done in the death of their daughter."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Lansdale police (610-270-0977) or Montgomery County detectives (610-278-3368).
